The Understanding Map, a fundamental component of Cultures of Thinking developed by Project Zero, serves as a powerful visual representation of students' meaning-making processes. Embedded within this map are eight thinking moves or behaviours that support deeper understanding. In this session, we will explore what all the fuss is about; why develop a culture of thinking and how we can use the Understanding Map to build thinking dispositions, select and enact specific thinking routines, support curriculum planning and use it as an assessment tool.
