Principal Investigator, Project Zero at the
Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE)
How might learners develop the capacity to transfer what they learn in the classroom to issues, topics, and ideas in the world? How can they capitalize on the learning that happens in school to expand understanding toward greater depth, breadth, and personal impact?
This workshop introduces participants to Reach, a teaching and learning approach developed by Project Zero’s Idea to Action team and Independent Schools Victoria that seeks to nurture in learners critical mindsets and thinking skills for school learning and everyday situations, and to greatly expand their capacities for flexible understanding, curiosity, and application of content. Participants will learn about the Reach framework and three mindsets that can extend learning in important directions. They will also try out tools from the project that have been tested and refined in collaboration with two ISV pilot schools.
